ONE PROPOSAL FOR A LITERACY DIGITAL IN THE SCHOOL

SmartTEAM is an educational project that integrates robotics, programming and artificial intelligence to develop computational thinking in a progressive and practical way within the classroom. We combine books, platforms, kits and teacher support so that schools can implement the programme on an ongoing basis, even without specialist staff, and so that pupils can progress from being explorers of technology to creators of their own solutions and projects.

SmartTEAM Character

Why SmartTEAM was created

SmartTEAM was created to support students growing up in a world shaped by technology. We aim to help them understand its potential and its risks, and to move from being users to creators of solutions capable of improving their environment. It is a new form of literacy, increasingly necessary in schools, to nurture critical, creative citizens who are prepared for the present.

From a practical perspective, the project also stems from a common reality in schools: the lack of specialist staff and initiatives that enable the implementation of robotics, programming and AI on a sustained basis. For this reason, SmartTEAM aims to democratise access to educational robotics through an experience suitable for non-specialist teachers and a model that is sustainable over time, facilitating the continuity and growth of the project within each school.

1

Lack of systematic proposals

Robotics and programming are often seen as isolated or sporadic activities. SmartTEAM was created to offer a structured educational programme that is sustained over time.

2

Lack of technological knowledge

The integration of technology often relies on teachers with specific training, which limits its reach. At SmartTEAM, we support teachers with no prior knowledge by providing training and pedagogical guidance.

3

Curriculum break

Technology is often taught without being linked to the school curriculum. In SmartTEAM, each chapter includes clear guidance on how to link the chapters to different areas of the curriculum.

PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FROM PROJECT

A multidisciplinary team that combines technological expertise, teaching skills and a close working relationship with teachers, to support them at every stage of the implementation process.

Curriculum progression by year group

Books and sequenced activities, with a clear path from initial explorations to complex projects (including AI and ML along the way).

Technology and distinguishing features

SmartTEAM operates as an ecosystem: printed materials, platforms and kits designed to ensure that learning is gradual, engaging and applicable to real-world projects.

Support for teachers

Training, support and teaching guidance to ensure sustainable implementation, with a focus on helping teachers become more independent.

Project-based learning (PBL)

Students learn by creating: they design, test, refine and document solutions to real-world problems and contexts.

Ready-to-use platforms

Learning environments designed for the classroom, featuring pre-designed projects, book-based sessions and tools for training ML models and applying them to creative projects.

Our history

A journey of growth, innovation and regional expansion

2019

SmartTEAM is launched

We launched SmartTEAM as a new approach to digital literacy in schools, integrating robotics and programming with a focus on both education and practical application.

2020

Partnership with Educabot and creation of the ecosystem

We have strengthened our alliance with Educabot as our technology partner and developed the SmartTEAM ecosystem: books, platforms and kits designed for sustainable implementation.

2021

First pilots in the classroom

We carried out the first pilot schemes to test the proposal with teachers and pupils, refining the materials, classroom dynamics and progression.

2022

Regional expansion and established support

From Argentina, SmartTEAM is expanding into Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Chile and Uruguay, and we are consolidating our teacher support model to ensure the project’s long-term sustainability in new schools and contexts.

2024

Consolidation in Latin America and the start of operations in Brazil

We strengthened SmartTEAM’s presence in the Latin American market and began the process of expanding and adapting the project to the Brazilian context, forging new partnerships and opening up new opportunities.

2025

Integration of Artificial Intelligence

We have included AI projects in the programme, incorporating training in machine learning models and their application in student-developed creations and prototypes.
